"California"
Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at 10:46AM Written when I realised how moving to California had saved me from a shallow life
The London streets all knew my name,
But they spat in my eyes and they put me to shame,
I was lost, oh how I was lost.
And as the streets replayed their song,
You pulled me away, now I see I was wrong,
I was lost, oh how I was lost.
You took my heart and you let it be free,
Oh You took my heart and you let it be free.
I thought that I had all I'd need,
But truth it was drunk on my excess and greed,
I was lost, oh how I was lost.
I walked with the swagger of men,
Who cherish their stature over things they have seen,
I was lost, oh how I was lost.
You took my heart and you let it be free,
Oh You took my heart and you let it be free.
Now that I'm here I can see things so clear,
I can breath on my own without feeling alone,
And I'm home, baby I'm home.

What an amazing song I must say. This is the type of song you hear that automatically makes you stop what you are doing and kind of puts you in a trance. It made the clarity of what I was writing before I listened so much clearer. I'm inspired to work so much harder on a book I just started. Great job!
Thanks Lindsay. Your support means a huge amount. It's always difficult putting such personal material out in the world. How's your book coming along?
